Mine



You could say this is my Rothko. Not in the sense of this being a masterpiece, no. In the EG sense (maddening old friend) of a viewer seeing this and thinking to himself, "I could do that." And of course you could. You could find your own forest or park, be there when the sun is just right through the trees, use the right lens and settings to get the right bokeh, and find your own elegant and eloquent composition. 

And I hope you will. 

Because I will always vote for more beauty in the world.

I am unreasonably interested in this piece. 

Can you picture it as a painting? Can you see the soft grey backdrop, like a photography greycard, juxtaposed with brighter brushstrokes? Not every pine needle, but the abstracted lightforms and textures, more broad and less detailed, building to the stream of sunflare.
