Art-making is my lifeblood. From crayons to oils, my childhood was saturated in color. Over the years my palette has expanded to include photography, figure drawing, jewelry design, embroidery and all manner of printed textile design. I’ve studied block printing and bandhani tie and dye in India, studied counted stitch and tadrees embroidery in Morocco, and filled more sketchbooks than I can count. My formal training includes a bachelor’s degree in painting (2008) and an AAS in textile design (2018) from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
I won a Fulbright grant in 2019 to study and write a book about Moroccan embroidery, and was able to finish most of my research before COVID-19 sent us home early. Now back in New York, I am accepting new freelance clients.
My paintings and photography are held in private collections across the United States, Canada and the UK, and my exhibition history includes:
2018, Group exhibition, Textile Design and Painting, Green Olive Arts (Tetouan, Morocco)
